90's Niche Football Card Blog Trade: GIANT Trade Mail Day!

As I posted on Hampton Cardboard Craze this morning, I recently pulled off a big trade with 90's Niche Football Card Blog and acquired not only some new Hamptons, but some other wants as well.

Today's Part 1 of the mail day focuses on the NY Giants portion. Tomorrow is some 90's insert goodness and the Hampton part you can only find on Hampton Cardboard Craze. So I guess you better get to following that blog.

Let's get to looking what I got.

Some great Giants here from a variety of brands. I love the Charles Way Brilliants.

Eli Manning and Michael Strahan inserts and more Dave Browns. I still have nightmares sometimes about him haha.

New pickups for Shane Vereen, some Valor I didn't have and adding new Tiki Barbers is never a bad thing.

Cruz "bulleted" insert, Nassib and Collins rookies here among other great cards.

Tyrone Wheatley Action Packed rookie and silver rookie parallel. Couldn't believe I didn't have these after all of the Action Packed I bought back in the 90's. I wished Panini would give these a go.

McCaffrey rookie.

And the biggest surprise of the mail day, this LT jersey card. I had seen him post it on Twitter but he claimed he was holding onto it for awhile. I had no idea this was coming to me. Crazy awesome!
I will be posting the rest of the trade mail day tomorrow so stay tuned especially if you are a fan of 90's or shiny cardboard.

Reminiscing 90's:1992 Disney Megavolt Kellogg’s PVC

Key notes for March 12th 1992:
March 12th 1992 was a Thursday
George H.W.Bush was President
Most Popular Movie released in March of 1992 was The Lawnmower Man
Most Popular Book around this time was Rising Sun by Michael Crichton
Billboard Hot 100 number-one single on March 12th 1992 was To Be With You by Mr. Big.

Megavolt. Darkwing Duck's most common enemy when it came to power outages or anything electrical seeming out of whack. He wasn't my favorite criminal of the group, but still kinda cool.

They came in like a lightning bolt! Speaking of electrifying, here are some definite 90's cards that electrified cardboard!

Big time electrifying cards! Hope you were not blinded!

This was the final Darkwing Duck character in the series. Something strange may be in my neighborhood up next.....

Contest Mail Day From @JGfan24ever

Earlier this week I won a PWE contest from @JGfan24ever on Twitter who is not only the generous person you will meet, but is one of the nicest. He hosts these contests from time to time and always makes sure that everyone is doing well. Like I said, he is a great guy.
In this contest, up for grabs was this Panini Contenders College Ticket autograph of Chasson Randle. If you are a dedicated reader of this blog, you know my passion for Contenders and rookie autographs. So I was very happy I was the winner.

Once again, I will state how great of a guy he is. He also threw in this awesome Odell Beckham Jr card I didn't have. The design is pretty rad and it also captures the one handed catch. It actually doesn't bother me either that it doesn't have logos. The layout is just done well.

A big thanks goes out to Michael for the mail day and the bonus. And if you have Twitter but are not following him, I suggest you start following.

Electric Avenue

I haven't quite figured out how to title the new posts on Hampton's Cardboard Craze on here yet. I want them to be catchy, but I don't want to be misleading to have a post about leading you to another post. Hopefully I will get that figured out. These posts won't be on here forever, just trying to build the excitement around the new blog.

So yes, this is another NEW post on Hampton's Cardboard Craze. So first, caption the card on here then go check out this new post. Or just check out the new post it's completely up to you.

Contest Mail Day From 2x3 Heroes!

Around Christmas time, the blog 2x3 heroes was running a Christmas contest and I was one of the winners for a lot of football cards. I received my prize yesterday but with internet down, I couldn't post it til today.

So let's check out what was sent shall we?

Love this card despite Justin not being in a Giants uni. But once a Giant, always a Giant to me.Going to miss him in the league as I hoped he would return back to NY this year, but I wish him the best on his recent retirement.

Next up some sweet looking inserts! Some rainbow shine on the Ebron and I like the hands die cut of Nelson.

Some rookie cards including Kahlil Mack and Jarvis Landry.

Some possible set helpers in here

and in here. Will have to check my checklists first.

A thanks goes out to 2x3 heroes for the mail day. I really appreciate it! If you haven't yet, go check out his blog.

This series is all about you, the readers. My opinion is mum on every subject, however, you guys have the open mic per say on here. So without further ado, here is today' topic:

When buying a football blaster, would you rather pull a rookie relic card or pull a rare numbered insert such as to /25 ? Why?

It's A Metal Universe...

After a day off, I warmly welcome a new post on the Hampton Cardboard Craze blog. I am still trying to build up some posts on there before treating it like a few posts a week type of blog.

So without further ado, a new post. Follow link to see today' featured card and info:

1997 Metal Universe

Breakin Wax:2014 Sage Hit Low Series Football (NICE PULL)

Sage Hit not normally a product I buy hobby of as it's usually a retail buy for me, but with a price under $30 and 8 autographs, how could I not gamble a bit.

In every box of 2014 Sage Hit, you will get 30 packs with 4 cards per pack. There are 8 autographs per box with a box on average carrying a price of $40. I found mine on sale for $29.

Here are the silver parallels I found. Bridgewater and Bortles led the group!

Gold parallels, Write STuff, ROY, and Artistry insert. All pretty nice with the rainbow foil involved.

Start of the autographs. Not too many big names here...

Things get better here with Hyde, Thomas and former NY Giant Xavier Grimble (the Grimble is good to me for that reason)

But things got explosive when I found this Teddy in my box /100!!!!
Overall, I obviously rocked this box out for the price I paid. The Teddy looks even better in person. I haven't had the chance to look at the base cards closely, but I have been told that U.S. Presidents had photobombed some and if you find all of them you win an autograph set. I think it would be cool just to find one. I will let you know if I do.

Now I gotta ask, how many of you buy Sage products? Your thoughts on them? Let me hear it all!

Breakin Wax:2014 Panini Rookies And Stars Football

When you find a deal, you gotta jump on it or you will regret it. So when I found a box of 2014 Rookies and Stars with a chance at Odell Beckham among other big time rookies in that class for under $33, I said yes. So here is how I did....

In every box of 2014 Panini Rookies and Stars is 25 packs with 8 cards per pack. You will find four hits per box with a mix of inserts as well. Boxes on average run you around $40.

I skipped the base and went for my best rookies this time. Photo variation of Watkins and an Odell rookie!

Tons of inserts. This group has ODELL!

Pulled a Drew Brees Base Longevity Holo Foil Numbered to 99

CRUSADES! Man I love these! Panini should just do a football set all with these.

Sorry for a sideways photo, but a nice Tom Brady Crusade purple parallel numbered to 49. Has a good book value too.

Rookie Crusades....ODELL!!!

Two jersey cards. Both aren't too shabby.

Wished Hyde hadn't gotten hurt, but at least we know who will be in SF's backfield for awhile.

And it seems every box of 2014 I opened, West was there. I can't believe it. I must have at least 8 of his autographed rookies. Maybe a player I should PC. I would be fine with it if he was talented. But being cut by the Browns is never a good sign.
Overall, the Odell inserts may have saved this break along with the big hit of the box the Tom Brady Crusade. I think I still got decent book value for what I paid so I am still pleased.

Gems Of The Crown

Two days in a row a fresh post is up on the Hampton Cardboard Craze. I have so far managed to find a few minutes to put together some posts to help build the audience on there.

If you haven't yet, please add this blog to your reading list as I have no intent of stopping blogging on there.

Here is today's new post,

1994 Pacific Gems Of The Crown

It's a pretty cool looking card if you haven't ever seen one.

Breakin Wax:2015 Panini USA Stars And Stripes Longevity Baseball

I know a lot of people still pass by Panini baseball products, but I don't. I think they look nice, I think they are reasonably priced and I think the hits are waiting to be found.

In every box of 2015 Panini Stars and Stripes baseball is 10 packs with 5 cards per pack. Most of these boxes can be found at $25 and comes with 4, yes 4, hits! You can find Kris Bryant hidden within as well.

Base cards were a bit confusing as you find four Longevity and one regular per pack on average unless a hit is in there. Why not just keep it one way or the other??? Anyways, Russell and Kyle Schwarber were my best of the base.

Longevity Ruby #/199 parallels. They seem hidden unless you are looking close.

Crusades! I still dig these.

My jersey card pulls. Two are Longevity Ruby #/299 or less and one regular.

And my last hit of the box, a Peter O'Brien auto /25. Which is a Sapphire parallel. This guy used to be a Yankee before being traded to the D-Backs for Prado. So I guess it's a partial PC item.
Overall, can't argue for the price. I didn't hit it big but you never know when these guys could make a splash in the MLB. That's the fun of prospecting USA style. I am more than likely giving this one a try again.

Things turn to gold in today's Hampton Cardboard Craze card. It's the first card featured on the blog.

You can give it a look here:

Gone, But Not Forgotten

There it was right at my fingertips, the missing piece to my 2012 Topps Chrome Rueben Randle rainbow, the Superfractor.

The 1/1 beauty would had been the final touch on my rainbow while also acting as my first Super. I hadn't seen the card listed in years. There was no way I could miss it again could I??....well yes I had to.

The problem was, financially I couldn't afford it and couldn't find a way around it. Within a few hours, I watched it slip away possibly forever. Sadness settled in and I tried to re-focus on collecting before putting this post together wondering if other collectors had to face this situation.

Now I gotta ask, have you ever had that one card you needed that you had to watch slip away due to finances, someone beating you to it or other reasons? Let me know below!

This series is all about you, the readers. My opinion is mum on every subject, however, you guys have the open mic per say on here. So without further ado, here is today' topic:
