Breakin Wax:2013 Panini USA Champions Baseball Retail Box Break

I think 2013 USA Champions baseball was a very underrated product and still is. So when I had an opportunity to open up a retail box with three hits in it for $20, I jumped all over it.

In every box of 2013 USA Champions baseball retail box, there are 24 packs with 7 cards per pack. You also get one autograph and two game used cards per box for a very well priced $20!

The base cards were simple. Red, gold (white) and blue. The design was nice on these player focused cards with the USA flag waving in the background.

Certified! Looks nice

And when you have Certified, you are gonna have Mirror Parallels! These look even more impressive.

My hits. There wasn't three....THERE WAS FIVE! That's right, $20 for FIVE HITS. Nice Wacha jersey card right here. Was hoping for a Kris Bryant...maybe next time!

Two autos. Nobody big...yet. That's one cool thing about this product. It has stars of today, yesterday and tomorrow in both jersey and autographed cards. Pretty close to a prospecting product.
Overall, I was speechless and excited. Now I just need to go back for more!

Yep, that's right. I brought back the popular series Hobby Topic. This series is all about you, the readers. My opinion is mum on every subject, however, you guys have the open mic per say on here. So without further ado, here is today' topic:

It's Valentines Day!! But it is also, National Hockey Card Day in Canada. So today's topic is, are you participating today? Do you go to shops to get the cards or do you buy sets online? What are your thoughts on the promotion?

Breakin Wax: 2014 Panini Contenders 2-Hobby Box Break

Well, I have already broke one box and thought I did well, so why not try some more? I think these ones went even better than the last!

So, since I already did a breakdown of the product, I didn't include the box picture or the breakdown in general. But, as a quick note, it's $130 for 5 (most likely 6) autographs.

Here were my Legendary Conteders inserts. They fall one per box.

Other inserts from this break. I still really like the design on these.

Touchdown Kings. Both are parallels.

Andre Williams PC add.

I really like these Championship Ticket parallels

Now onto the autographs. They are key to the product and cards I will not trade off. Some great ones to kick it off including Borland (who was a beast for the 49ers this year), West (yup again) and Thomas.

Playoff ticket parallels

AND THE BIG BIG BOOM! MY BEST PULL OF 2014! This guy has tons of potential! He is the one I chose before the season started as the best QB of the Draft Class. Seems I was right. Bridewater is also one of the shortprinted ones limited to only 75.
Overall, a great break. Some nice looking inserts card, decent rookie autos and a big pull to Can't go wrong with this break.

This card is crying out for a Caption.

Leave a caption below for this card. Please keep it free of language and clean please for our younger audience!

Super Bowl Prize Winning Mail Day From TSB

My results from a contest win from Top Shelf Breaks was much better than the results of the actual Super Bowl.Yes, if you didn't know, I DO NOT LIKE THE PATRIOTS.

This sweet 2014 Gold Refractor of Zack Mettenberger /50 arrived at the Post Office this morning. Glad to have it apart of my PC for both rookie and refractor.

A big thanks goes out to the guys at Top Shelf Breaks for this prize as it helped ease some of the pain of the Super Bowl in having to watch the Patriots celebrate. At least this card is forever in my PC and watching the Patriots win that only lasts til next year :) Go Gmen!

If you are not following TSB yet on Twitter, please do so. They do giveaways and are great guys to discuss the hobby with.

Breakin Wax:1995 Pro Line Classic Football 7 Pack Break

With it's fun inserts and exceptional base card photography, how could I not want to go back-in-time and give this stuff another break? So here is a 9 pack break!

I have two different types of packs here. The green wrapper is a jumbo pack that came with 16 cards and two NFL POG team cards in every pack. The red wrapper comes with 10 cards and an Game Breaker insert in every pack.

The base cards are superb! Great photography and the design at the bottom is nice as well.

Even the back of the card looks nice

My rookie cards from my pack. I miss the days when we would get college rookies in NFL products. Much better than the photoshopping we get now.

Silver parallels

Gamebreakers insert

POGs! If you are from the 90's, you know exactly what these are!

And a nice pull here at 1:96 packs!!! A Classic Basketball Preview card. Yes, I did find it a bit odd to find one of these in the product. But, a tough pull none-the-less.
Overall, can't argue with a decent break like this and finding these packs under $2 is also a big help. I still like the base cards a lot so that was a quick sell to me. I know many toss their base in today's collecting, but I don't especially when they are done right.

Breakin Wax: 2014 Prestige Football Hobby Box #PaniniWildCard

All I can say is oooops! Way back in December I won a round of #PaniniWildCard on Twitter and NEVER showed my results. Well, for those of you I promised to show my break to, here it is!

My box contained this Beckham rookie I didn't have along with a Bridgewater Sp.

Parallels including a Extra Points gold numbered to 25 of Aldon Smith.

Inserts. Nice Big Board Of Teddy!

Another nice Teddy!

Draft Picks parallel numbered to 25

Second box of Prestige I have opened, second Wilder

Jenkins and Sam are in my boxes waaaaaaayy to often

And here was the coolest card of the box! Nice swatch!
Overall other than the rookie cards I got and the Sankey, not much to see here. I still am a fan of Prestige and this box helped fill some set needs but not sure if I would go back and try another after two poor turnouts.

With that being said however, I am still looking forward to 2015 Prestige!

Grady M. Mail Day Part 2: Football Inserts, Baseball Inserts, 2015 Topps,Yankees and MORE Oh My!

Well, now looking at how many pictures are in this post, I should have done three parts for this mail day. But, I promised to show you guys the rest tonight so here it goes!

Gonna start it out with football inserts and there were plenty to share. Here are Absolute football base rookies and red/blue spectrum base players and rookies.

More insert madness! I really like the Profiles insert.

Sanchez and Suh rookies from Platinum.

Stacy is a gold parallel numbered to 49

Hogg Heaven! Even a Boss Hogg numbered parallel!

Steve Smith is numbered to 25.
That ends the football insert portion of this post. Was a lot of great finds!

Now onto some basketball!

Sweet Prizm parallels

Even a Larry Bird Prizm parallel

That ends the basketball portion. I really like the Prizm adds.

Now onto warmer weather thoughts. The thoughts of green grass, the sound of a bat cracking and the Yankees fans like myself missing Derek Jeter. Here are some baseball inserts and a few Yankee PC adds!

Always been a Heritage fan

Now onto a few Griffeys. These two I haven't seen before and quite honestly don't know what they are. They are from 1989 and something I definitely don't have. Pretty cool.

This card has always been a fun one to see. Upper Deck did this a few times in the 90's.

Now onto my first 2015 Topps baseball adds. Here are my FIRST two Yankees of 2015.
I am absolutely impressed with this years Topps base card design. From what I see, the photography is finally nice and the boring white borders are gone. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was how thin the cards are. That was something I picked up immediately.

Inserts are a okay. I wished they would put more effort in them such as adding foils or embossing or something amongst those lines. Seems these are more of a subset or filler to me. Another thing would be nice if they stopped shoving boxes full of them. Make them harder to find and only a few per box.

I like this years gold parallels. A bit of shine to them.

These are my favorites of the 2015 Topps inserts so far. I like when companies add something new by thinking outside the box. I love the pictures they used too. Jeff Bridges looks like he just had a few cold ones, 50 Cent looks like he should be pitching for the Mets (yeah that was a slam) Agnes is playing ski-ball and Tom could probably make the Cubs team (yes another slam)
In this two-day mail day I was left completely speechless. The further I dug into that box, the more I felt like a kid at a candy counter digging out all of the red Sour Patch Kids. It couldn't get any better!

Now I must give some props where they are due. Grady is a very generous collector and someone who has become a friend. I hope the both of us continue to do these packages for one-another. It's a lot of fun no matter which end you are on. I enjoy packing up and setting stuff aside for him just as much as I enjoy receiving it, and showing it off too!
