I can't believe another year of me hosting the Player Of The Day contest is over.

There was some really fun contests along the way in what turned out to be my biggest year yet!! Thanks everyone for showing up with your entries, your pictures and for spreading the word on the contest. This kind of support is what keeps this contest coming back every year.

Another thing I like about this contest other than it giving back to my readers, is the fact it brings in new readers. I hope all of you stay on board because there is plenty of cardboard talk ahead!

You have randomized this list 7 times.

Congrats to KMH! You have won the Odell Beckham auto so please email me at with your address so I can get this out to you next week. Also something else to note, for some of you there is a minor shipping delay on your POD prizes so next week I will be able to get out what hasn't been mailed yet. I have spent a lot on shipping prizes out in this contest and the #SCCGivesBack packages so I am having to delay to paydays to get these out now.

Also, KMH, if you are willing to trade this to me, please include that in your email as well. If not, I won't hold it against you......or will I. JK.

Once again thank you to everyone who turned out for the biggest year yet in 2014. Let's hope I can host it again in 2015 and make that the biggest year ever!

Another post in the series Hobby Topics. This is not so much a post for us to comment about or give our opinions on, this is your chance to let your voice be heard on a variety of topics in the hobby. We are leaving the floor open to you! So comment away! But please no language and keep your answer clean as we do have a younger following as well.

Today's Topic: Complete Sets. Do you buy completed sets or do you build your own? What are your thoughts on set collecting? Do you collect any older sets? What set is your biggest accomplishment?

Let's hear your thoughts!

That 90's Card: 1995 Action Packed Jerome Bettis

In a game that is ACTION PACKED, Pinnacle wanted us to get a FEEL of the game with their Action Packed product. Despite this product having been out for awhile, 1995 was the first one I first started to collect. I not only liked the feel of the cards with the gloss "raised" player against the dull feel of the card, but I also like that they used no border and full action shots. Some of the pictures they used were pretty sweet as well.

REVIEW: Sidelined By Chuck Pagano+GIVEAWAY!

I was recently given the opportunity to review Sidelined, by Chuck Pagano to review for you guys.

Sidelined: Overcoming Odds Through Unity, Passion and Perseverance
Sidelined starts out with Pagano's history to becoming Head Coach of the Indianaopolis Colts then moves on at a good pace to his battle with leukemia that kept him SIDELINED because of the side effects chemotherapy and months of recovery.

This wasn't easy for a first time head coach who just took over a team. But, to keep him in "the game" he kept in constant contact with his players, staff and assistants from his hospital bed through many ways including email and text.

Chuck never gave up and through faith he was strong and determined to beat cancer which helped inspire the Colts on the field with their play in which the team responded finishing 11-5 for their coach. The players weren’t the only ones touched by Pagano’s hope and strength of character, he inspired thousands of fans that came together to create the #CHUCKSTRONG movement that helped raise millions to beat cancer. Every Colts game you watched that season was #CHUCKSTRONG.

We all have heard parts of this story, but you don't get the full story or heart behind it without reading this book. I don't want to giveaway much more details about the book because you will want to read it for yourself. Believe me, you will be moved.

Overall, this book I found very moving. Coach Pagano was an inspiration to me watching that football season in showing me that my little problems are nothing to overcome as long as you have faith especially since he overcame such a big obstacle.God is good and amazing in so many ways. I think the book was a great read from cover to back and I would recommend it to any football or non-football fan. There is also 8 tremendous pages of full color photos in the middle of the book that will make you both feel sad and smile as it shows what #CHUCKSTRONG was all about. Chuck didn't just inspire his team, he inspire the Colts and their fans, he also inspired the NFL and the world. This book shows that.

If you want a copy, I recommend buying it from Family Christian. You can find it right HERE.

Speaking of my friends over at Family Christian, they are allowing me to host a giveaway for a $25 appreciation certificate. If I was you, I would use it towards a copy of this book. But, anyways, I wanted to make this an easy giveaway that I will random off a winner from.

Here is how to enter:
  1. Must be a U.S. Resident.
  2. Just Comment on this post with #CHUCKSTRONG
  3. Winner will be randomly selected from after 7 randoms
  4. Entries are due by NOVEMBER 24TH, 2014 with a winner being announced on NOVEMBER 25TH, 2014.
Good Luck and God Bless! Make sure to thank Family Christian for this contest!

Random Card Of The Week: 2014 TCSP Promo Card Johnny Manziel

This was the first Manziel in my collection, a 2014 TCSP promo card that was apart of a 5 card set I had won. Despite the lack of licensing, I really dig the design of the card and it looks even better up close.

The Card Bin: What Did I Find This Time?

I really enjoyed doing this post over at The Card Bin blog and I wasn't just going to leave you all hanging with it. So without further ado, another post from The Card Bin, which is what I call this this tote right here:

I think most of us collectors have that one place we store all of our extra cards that are not PC related. This is where I stick mine. I also use this as a once-in-awhile dig through to bring back memories or for a just for fun experience. I will start posting cards from this bin to show you what's hiding in there. I honestly have no idea what is in there, I only know its autographs and memorabilia cards from the past 14 years. So this should be fun for both you and I!

Onto today's find:
2008 Upper Deck X Jered Weaver Jersey Card
Thoughts on today's find are welcomed!

Upper Deck NPN Mail Day: 2013-2014 Spx Hockey Auto/Jersey

There is nothing better than getting a unexpected mail day and when that mail day is an Upper Deck NPN (no purchase necessary) mail day, you know it's going to be good. This particular one is from the 2013-2014 Spx.

I never argue with an autographed jersey rookie card.

Have you ever received an Upper Deck NPN mail day? What's the best card you have gotten?

WINNER Of The Player Of The Day Contest Part 6 GB Packer Autos!

Another week of the NFL Season coming to an end and another week of my Player Of The Day contest came to a close with a winner to announce.

In what I thought would be a much closer game, Green Bay took it to Philly scoring 53 points in their rout. With Philly scoring 20 and with the total of 73, there would be no argument that everyone had a chance in this contest because the odds that anyone picked over 73 would be surprising. All it came down to now was who chose the highest. One number stood out above the rest. With a total of 70 we had a winner. Congrats to Ronald Robinson who takes home the two Green Bay Packer autos including Ha-Ha Clinton Dix.

Here are your prizes:

Ronald, please email me at with your address. Will try to get these right out to you!

Thanks again to everyone that entered and be on the lookout for the FINAL Player Of The Day contest coming up later today!

Hobby Break 'Em: 2013 Topps Magic Football Hobby Box

For the first time, I tried out SCC Trading Cards for a purchase. I usually have always bought my hobby stuff from dacardworld but have had a few issues with them recently so I wanted to give someone else a try.

The prices at SCC are very reasonable and they have free shipping on all orders over $99. The first box I opened from there was a box of 2013 Topps Magic. Yes, I know the rookie class is weak, but how can you go wrong with a hobby box at $38 that gives you three autographs in which one could be a top tiered veteran such as Drew Brees.

In every box of Topps Magic football, you get 24 packs with 8 cards per pack. Most boxes right now are under $40 and will land you three autographs.

Here is what the base cards look like. They have a throwback feel to them and I am not just talking the way the pictures are done. The base cards themselves feel like they are printed on older card stock making for a nostalgic type of product.

Aerial Attack inserts. I think the feel and look of these fit right in with a product like this.

Same goes for the Ground and Pound inserts....

Here is a couple of the '48 Magic which contains a mixture of 25 of the biggest veteran, retired and rookie players on the nostalgic '48 Magic design. I really like these. I just don't really have anyway to store them so I stick them in full size sheet pages.

This is probably one of my favorite inserts that Topps has done in awhile. These are photos taken from the Rookie Premier and Topps framed them to give them a 3D/Shadowbox appeal.

Time for some mini action! You find one of these per pack along with many parallels.
Mini Parallels...

Red!!! These are numbered to 50! Not a shabby player either!

My three autographs. Nothing great, but Stills has some talent.

Overall, not the best break in the world. But, that is my kinda luck. I failed to mention this earlier but any base card that is over 220 in the set is an Sp. I don't know how many I got in this box but that should help add a little bit more value. I believe there are Sp's for the mini's as well.

As always thoughts on my breaks are welcomed!

LET'S GO BACK IN TIME! 1998 Ex2001 SET!!

After many years of wanting this set, I finally pulled the trigger.

Steel City Collectibles had just picked up a TON of sets from 1998 containing Peyton Manning rookies. I for one, immediately checked out what they had. When I stumbled upon this set, I knew I had to have it! Not only was it one of my favorite products from the late 90's, but with the "bonus" being a Peyton Manning rookie in the set, I knew for $29.99 this was a bargain. I must also mention they shipped it in a binder with pages as well so you have got to consider the cost of that too.

So without further ado, enjoy the following gallery. Try not to fall in love with it, because it's mine and it's not going anywhere.

Here comes the Peyton!

And I can't forget about Ryan Leaf...I mean Randy Moss! Not to mention Charles Woodson and Fred Taylor!
This is going to have a great place in my 90's collection. I hope to pick up EX2000 set as well someday.

This is one of two sets I have picked up from this era recently. You will have to wait til next Sunday to view that one. However in the meantime, comments on this set and guesses on the next one are welcomed!
